TIP for you:

This is one of the very smallest succulents. The delicate yet tough leaves protect it from drying out and the compact shape complements the overall look of this miniature beautifully.

Villadia imbricata, a small succulent of the Crassulaceae family, will enchant lovers of miniature plants.

This succulent boasts delicate, dull green leaves. Thickly growing leaves (5-6 mm long, 2 mm wide) grow on a thin stem and form the body of the plant. The edges of the leaflets are quite sharp and, due to their rigidity, the plant does not dry out and the lower leaves do not fall off. Older shoots tend to lodge and form small rhizomes. It grows to a height of 15 cm with flowers.

It flowers in summer or autumn with white flowers at the end of elongated rosettes. The compact shape of the plant is disturbed during flowering and the flowering shoots must be cut back as they dry out and lose their aesthetic appearance.

Villadia imbricata is relatively rarely grown in the Czech Republic. It is therefore also a collector's prized piece. When placed outdoors, it must be protected from heavy rain, which could damage it, for example by washing away the surrounding substrate. Villadia imbricata is a typical representative among miniature succulents. It can be grown in small ceramic pots where its miniature growth is best displayed.
