This is a beautiful climber. It is also suitable as an overhanging plant for hanging containers. It looks like ivy and flowers beautifully.
Senecio macroglossus, also known as Wax Ivy or Cape Ivy, is a fascinating creeping climbing plant native to southern Africa, specifically Zimbabwe, Mozambique and the eastern part of South Africa. This plant has won the hearts of growers around the world thanks to its unmistakable charm, which lies in its combination of attractive foliage, yellow flowers and low maintenance.
The bright green leaves are up to 8 cm long. They are usually triangular or 5-pointed in shape and resemble ivy. The smooth, thin and flexible stems give the plant an elegant appearance and allow it to grow climbing or creeping. It can grow up to 3 metres in length but is easily cut back to maintain the desired length and shape.
In the summer months it is clothed in beautiful flowers. The large, pale yellow daisy-shaped flowers give the plant a cheerful and optimistic atmosphere.
