Did you know?

Occasionally the plant will grow with two-coloured leaves. This is a rare but temporary phenomenon, but it is more common in this stonecrop than in most other species.

Sedum rubrotinctum Aurora, also known as Pink Jelly Bean, is a stunning succulent with large stems covered with striking pink bean-shaped leaves. This is where it gets its nickname, while it is technically called Sedum × rubrotinctum Aurora. Its distinctive pink colouration is from the partial loss of chlorophyll in the leaves, creating a unique visual impression.

In addition to its distinctive pink coloration, Sedum changes its coloration depending on the light. In sunlight it takes on beautiful shades of red, while in winter it retains its soft pink colour, sometimes turning white. The leaves take on their most beautiful hues when exposed to direct sunlight. This succulent reaches a height of around 20 cm.

The small star-shaped flowers add an interesting contrast to the pink leaves with their yellow colouring.

Although it is very rare, its aesthetic appeal lies primarily in the leaves themselves. Occasionally, it may even grow two-coloured leaves, as is the case with the stem colouring. Even if this is only temporary, it is a wonderful spectacle. This variety is very popular with our customers for its unique appearance and attractive leaf colouring.
