Place in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
Can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The dominant colour of the leaf tips becomes red in summer. Different forms of this succulent colour the tips in different shades.
Light green leaves with waxy coating turn red during summer. Leaves are club-shaped, bent and blunt-tipped. Old leaves dry naturally and after a while the stems become woody. This plant forms a small succulent shrub that branches freely and grows up to 30 cm tall.
The yellow star-shaped flowers of Sedum pachyphyllum appear in racemes on upright flower stalks. It flowers in winter, allowing the plant to bring a little sunshine indoors even in the cold months. The flowers are quite pretty and give the plant an elegant appearance.
When growing this stonecrop it is advisable to make a rejuvenating cut. The cut tops of the plant can then be left to root and the succulent propagated. It will stand out best if you plant it with other species in a succulent garden. With its colour changes and winter flowers, this unpretentious plant will bring a little bit of nature and joy into your home.
