Sedum pachyclados
The plant prefers sunny habitats.
In a pot, always water after the substrate has dried. When placed in a rock garden, water at your own discretion.
The Sedum can withstand temperatures down to -34.4° C. The plant is hardy and can be grown outdoors all year round.
It is found in the wild in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It can be found here at altitudes of around 2 400 - 3 400 m above sea level.
Sedum pachyclados, also called Rhodiola pachyclados, is translated as Grey Stonecrop. It is native to Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it grows in mountains at altitudes between 2,400 and 3,400 m above sea level.
It is characterised by blue-green fleshy leaves with serrated margins. The ovate leaves, up to 1 cm long and about 0.6 cm wide, grow in small, narrow rosettes. The stonecrop spreads by means of slender rhizomes and slowly forms fine shrubs covering its immediate surroundings.
Clusters of white flowers appear during the summer.
These plants are hardy, requiring only minimal attention and care. They are suitable for the rock garden or in portable containers, and if they have enough light and permeable soil, they can manage to live in very inhospitable conditions. Water only during prolonged droughts and usually do not water in winter. Over the winter, the plant rosettes can retract and naturally lose their volume. They will regain it at the beginning of the growing season.
