This crest form is a very rare collector's item that is very hard to find.

Sedum multiceps cristata is a rare crested form of Sedum multiceps. It is often referred to as a mini Joshua Tree. It resembles this interesting tree, which grows primarily in Joshua Tree National Park in southeastern California. To some of our customers, it resembles a succulent mini palm tree.

We refer to this succulent by its English name as the many-headed stonecrop. In its homeland, the classic form grows mainly on limestone cliffs from sea level to 1,500 m elevation in and around Constantine, Kabylia.

The leaves are soft but not brittle. The individual tiny leaves resemble small needles and together form rosettes with compact crowns. As the plants get older, the stem gradually gets fatter and the old leaves, with which it is initially clothed, fall off. Older caraway leaves are then completely bare. The small, star-shaped flowers vary in colour from cream to yellow.

In the absence of water, the leaf rosettes retract and reduce their volume by up to half. However, when watered, they open up again very quickly and increase in volume. It grows mainly during spring and autumn, with a marked stagnation over the summer. This succulent is never fertilised. In particular, however, it is a unique and unparalleled specimen and a highly prized collector's piece.
