Place in a sunny spot. If we have the opportunity, the stonecrop can be summered.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. The plant is not hardy.

Did you know?

The name griseum is derived from the word griseus - grey. It is the name for a plant whose needle-like leaves are grey in colour.

Sedum griseum, or grey stonecrop, is a succulent plant whose name accurately describes its appearance. The needle-like leaves are coloured blue-green to grey (griseus = grey). In other light conditions, the papery leaves can turn green and, in full sun, reddish.

A powdery wax covers the young leaves, giving the plant a matt appearance. The stonecrop branches profusely and has a thin but firm stem with a grey-green peeling bark. In nature it can grow up to 90 cm tall, but in our area it is usually smaller.

The flowers of Sedum griseum are star-shaped, usually with five petals. They usually bloom in the middle of the Bohemian winter.

If the old stems start to droop, I recommend pruning. You can also shape the stem and plant into a more compact tree by cutting back the branches. Sedum griseum is an unpretentious and hardy plant that is suitable for succulent gardens and pots. It is particularly pleasing with its needle-like leaves, which give it an unusual appearance and charm everyone who sees it
