TIP for you:

In autumn, the plants turn a stunning raspberry red colour that takes your breath away.

Sedum caducum is a succulent plant found in Mexico in the Tamaulipas region at an altitude of about 600 m above sea level. Its name, caducum, refers to its easily detachable leaves and bracts.

he dull green leaves take on red spots in full sun and turn raspberry red in autumn. The leaves are diamond-shaped and grow up to 2.2 cm long and 1.2 cm wide and are easily detached. The succulent forms ground clumps. The compact shape of the plant disappears as autumn approaches as the stems pass the flower stalks.

The inflorescence of this stonecrop is made up of tiny white star-shaped flowers located at the ends of the stems. The flower stalks densely cover the bracts, which are also easily detached.

Sedum caducum is a monocarpic plant, meaning that the parent plant usually dies after flowering. Fortunately, the detached leaves take root and produce young plants that replace the parent plant during the season. The flowers can be cut back to prolong the life of the mother plant. It is a miniature succulent that is easy to grow. Its variable beauty and low maintenance make it a popular choice with our customers.
