Did you know?

The epithet anacampseros means returning love. The belief persists that this succulent returns love to where it has gone.

Sedum anacampseros, known professionally as Hylotelephium anacampseros, is nicknamed Love Restorer. The epithet anacampseros comes from the Greek and means to restore love. It refers to the legend according to which Sedum anacampseros has the power to bring back love to the places where it has disappeared. The succulent is native to southwestern Europe, where it grows wild in Spain, France, Switzerland and Italy.

The plant grows in a clump of semi-flexed and sparsely branching stems. On these grow grey-green to blue-green rounded leaves that reach up to 3 cm in diameter. The stems grow up to 15 cm long.

Attractive star-shaped flowers bloom on the plant during the summer. They turn purplish-red inside and take on more of a purplish hue on the outside. They grow clustered at the end of the stems.

These plants are frost hardy, requiring only minimal attention and care. They are suitable for the rock garden or in portable containers, and if they have enough light and permeable soil, they can manage to live even in very inhospitable conditions. Succulents should be repotted every once in a while to give them enough nutrients for their growth. Water only during prolonged droughts and usually do not water in winter. Over the winter, the plant rosettes can retract and naturally lose their volume. They will regain it at the beginning of the growing season.
