TIP for you:

It is great as a groundcover plant, changing from bright green to reddish colour during the year.

Sedum album Coral Carpet is also called Sedum Coral Carpet, Coral Carpet Stonecrop, White Stonecrop, also called white coral carpet. It is a cultivar of Sedum album, whose discoverer is unknown. The epithet album means white and refers to the colour of the flower.

The initially small ovate leaves grow to a maximum length of 2.5 cm and turn coral reddish to red-orange. During the growing season, however, they fade to a bright green colour. The succulent covers its immediate surroundings with its creeping stems quite quickly, forming a sort of coral mat.

Tiny white to pinkish flowers bloom on tall stems that can grow up to 30 cm tall. They have 5 petals and appear in dense clusters.

The stonecrop makes a great groundcover plant with its colour change and delicate foliage. If the succulent is grown in a pot it should be repotted regularly, otherwise it does not need further fertilisation. The rock plant can withstand the Czech winter without any problems and can be found again in the spring.
