Sedeveria Letizia
The plant likes the sun.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -6,7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
This succulent takes on a rich, bright green hue that will literally light up the succulent collection in which it is placed. The bright red edges add an extra nice contrasting detail.
Sedeveria Letizia is a hybrid plant, which is a cross between Mexican Echeveria setosa ssp. ciliata and Sedum cuspidatum. The correct spelling is then named ×Sedeveria Letizia. This hybrid remained nameless until Jean-Michel Moullec named it in honour of his Italian friend Letizia Alleruzzo in the January Sedum Society Newsletter. There is also speculation that the plant came from Fred Wass, a British cactus and succulent collector.
The leaves take on a deep green colour and turn intensely red around the edges in full sun, adding to the plant's colourful appearance. The leaves change colour throughout the year. They grow in a dense, compact leaf rosette that branches profusely. Its stems gradually become woody. The plant can grow up to 20 cm tall over time.
Many white flowers appear on the long flower stalks, usually in late spring/summer.
I recommend regular rejuvenation pruning to adjust the height of the plant to create a dense clump. This is a hardy succulent suitable for beginners and more experienced growers alike. It will look great as part of succulent gardens due to its contrasting bright colour. The red edges of the leaves add an extra fantastic look and the succulent will brighten up any collection it becomes part of.
