This plant was created by crossing Sedum pachyphyllum and Echeveria derenbergii in 1953.

Sedeveria Hummelii, professionally called × Sedeveria Hummelii, is a charming succulent plant with attractive leaf colour. It is an intergeneric hybrid created by Ed Hummel in 1953 by crossing Sedum pachyphyllum and Echeveria derenbergii. The plant is also known as Sedeveria Alidaea and Sedeveria Yellow Humbert.

Sedeveria Hummelii forms rosettes of numerous yellow-green leaves with red tips. The thick, fleshy leaves grow up to 3.5 cm long. The plant branches to form small shrubs that grow up to 10 cm tall.

Star-shaped flowers with yellow petals appear in summer.

A new plant can grow from a single leaf. It thrives in a bright habitat with direct sunlight, where the foliage develops its best colour. It is because of its soothing colouring that it has become a very popular and attractive plant.
