Pachyphytum compactum variegata
Place in a sunny location.
Water every few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
The plant can tolerate short-term temperatures down to -6.7 °C. However, it is not hardy.
Due to the variegation here, the green turns to yellow. The colours mix freely and each leaf has its own unique look.
Pachyphytum compactum variegata is a form of Pachyphytum compactum. It can sometimes be found under the name Pachyphytum compactum Rose or Little Jewel.
The leaves are light green to grey-white in colour. This is irregularly mixed with yellow, white patterns and the tips take on dark purple hues. Their intensity depends on sun and cold. The unbranched stems are relatively short, but can reach up to 15 cm. The succulent is particularly striking for its very fleshy and fleshy leaves.
The flowers appear in late spring and are barrel-shaped, red to orange with dark green or purple tips. These flowers are held above the leaves on stems that can reach up to 30 cm in length.
When there is sufficient light, they can be lightly fertilised at will. The succulent will last for quite a long time without watering, making it ideal for avid travellers who don't stay home much. Each piece of this tiny succulent is an original due to the unusual yellow similarity caused by the loss of chlorophyll. Unique pieces attract both by their appearance, originality and their low maintenance and durability.
