TIP for you:

This is a cultivar of Oxalis vulcanicola, which is distinguished by the golden colour of its leaves. The name Gold is derived from this.

Oxalis vulcanicola Gold, also called Oxalis spiralis vulcanicola Sunset Velvet, is a cultivar with pastel golden leaves and bright yellow flowers. The native form is native to tropical Central and South America, from southern Mexico to northern Argentina, where it grows at altitudes between 1 200 and 3 400 m above sea level.

The Gold form has golden pastel to yellow leaves that grow alternately at the ends of the stems. The petioles are trifoliate and slightly fleshy. The stems of the plant are woody, grow upright or drooping, and branch profusely. The stems grow up to 20 cm tall.

The sorrel produces yellow or yellow-orange flowers with a reddish vein at the mouth.

Oxalis vulcanicola Gold is a perennial herb that requires regular watering. It is such a classic houseplant and we care for it accordingly as a houseplant. If we have the opportunity, we can fertilise it. We can pinch out the stems to make them grow more nicely. The succulent is particularly pleasing with the colour of its leaves and adds bright yellow flowers to the interior, which it regularly decorates its shrubs with.
