Place ideally in full sun or partial shade.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter. Water regularly.

It can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

It is easy to get the shape you want. If you give it enough nutrients by fertilizing or feeding it with substrate, it will grow into a beautifully dense and large shrub.

Lampranthus roseus, formerly known as Lampranthus multiradiatus, is a succulent plant native to South Africa. It was originally found only in the fynbos scrub of the Cape, but later spread to the Mediterranean, South America, Australia and Oceania (Tonga, Cook Islands). It prefers sunny habitats with well-drained soil. Typical habitats are rocky slopes with sparse vegetation.

Leaves are blue, narrow, oblong and triangular. The lower leaves of the plant gradually dry out, forming a natural brown stem that thickens over time. The plant grows upright, branches profusely and grows up to 40 cm tall.

It boasts beautiful flowers in pinkish-purple shades with yellow centres. They bloom regularly in spring.

Lampranthus roseus responds to drought by shriveling its leaves. On the other hand, when given enough or too much nutrients, it grows very vigorously and grows to a large size where it looks unexpectedly good. It lends itself to tree shaping and other interesting forms. Its attractive appearance, profuse flowering and ease of cultivation make it an ideal choice for all succulent lovers.
