Plant likes sunny habitats.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

Room temperature is suitable for the plant. In winter, it can tolerate temperatures down to 5-10 °C. The plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The plant should not be fertilised. When fertilised, it grows into a vigorous shrub up to 30 cm tall, but more importantly, it loses its attractive colouring and becomes dark green.

Kalanchoe pumila Red, also known as Kalanchoe blossfeldiana Minima, is probably a cultivar of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana or Kalanchoe pumila, which are native to Madagascar. Its name is often confused and it is therefore sometimes difficult to trace. It is a plant very similar to Kalanchoe pumila, but it is not white-skinned and has more rhizomes.

This succulent plant boasts yellow-green leaves with a reddish tinge, which are finely covered with a waxy dust barely visible to the naked eye. The soft leaves grow abundantly and their edges are decorated with teeth. The plant grows quite rapidly and reaches a height of up to 20 cm. The overall appearance of the succulent is compact and bushy.

The flowers, which appear pinkish-purple, are erect and decorate the plant with purple to pink tones with contrasting yellow anthers. However, it does not normally flower in our conditions.

When placed outdoors in full sun, the leaves turn an attractive red. It is important to note that over-fertilisation or transplanting into a substrate with excessive nutrients can lead to rapid growth into a large shrub (up to 30 cm), but in this case the leaves lose their attractive yellow-green colour and become dark green. The shape of the shrub can easily be influenced by trimming the shoots, allowing the grower to maintain a compact and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Overall, this is a colourful, attractive houseplant that is easy to grow and will become an interior and exterior ornament.
