Did you know?

Linearis is characterised by its atypically elongated cylindrical leaves. The slender leaves stretch out on the stems and form interesting curtains of an overhanging houseplant.

Hoya linearis is a liana-like wax plant with atypically shaped leaves. It is native to China and Nepal, where it grows in the Himalayas. The houseplant forms beautiful overhanging drifts and is best suited for growing in hanging containers.

The leaves are light green in colour and have a cylindrical elongated shape up to 5 cm long. A slightly hairy surface can be found on both the stem and the leaves. The long, slender stems are elongated and form overflows.

Quite rarely, star-shaped white flowers may grow. However, flowering is rather sporadic and the main attraction is the tendrils.

The undemanding houseplant will appreciate a sheltered spot where its foliage is not scorched by direct sun. In apartments or houses, it can create dense curtains and its bright green shade enlivens the immediate surroundings.
