Hoya carnosa variegata
The plant is best suited to a semi-shaded habitat.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
Room temperature is ideal. The plant is not cold-hardy.
This is a wax plant with a white border on the leaves. It is similar to Hoya carnosa Tricolor, but with an inverted colouration.
Hoya carnosa variegata is a wax plant growing as a climber. The native form grows in China, Australia and India.
The oval, fleshy leaves have a glossy surface. They are green in colour and are decorated with a whitish tinge from the edges. It makes each leaf look a little different. The plant's tendrils are spreading and can reach several metres.
Small, star-shaped flowers may appear in summer. They range in colour from white to pinkish.
The wax plant can be grown as a climbing plant. Its tendrils wrap nicely around supports that can be prepared for growth. It can be easily fertilized as a houseplant. The plant pleases with its irregular colouring, which nicely frames the green of the leaves.
