Did you know?

The word 'truncata' means 'crippled' and refers to the ends of the leaves turning into flat windows.

Haworthia truncata Lime Green is a charming succulent plant, probably a hybrid of Haworthia truncata and Haworthia cuspidata or Haworthia cymbiformis. The name 'Lime Green' refers to the lime green colour of the leaves, which distinguishes this Haworthia from other types. "Truncata" means "crippled" and refers to the leaf tips that abruptly end in a flat window. Haworthias in general are native to South Africa.

This succulent plant is characterized by light to lime green leaves with dark green veining. The leaves have translucent windows on the commissure, which facilitate photosynthesis while limiting the dispersal of water into the surroundings. The leaves are square to rectangular in shape, grow more or less upright, and are closely appressed. They are arranged in a fan shape, which becomes ridge-like as they grow. Haworthia truncata Lime Green forms lateral rhizomes that form clumps over time. The height of the plant is about 5 cm, so it is a rather small succulent plant.

The overhanging flowers of this succulent are white and cream in colour and appear on slender stems that grow up to 30 cm long. They flower mainly in late spring.

This attractive, stemless succulent is hardy and ideal for a sheltered spot. It will last a long time without water. The succulent does not require fertiliser. Our customers like it for its atypical shape, interesting windows and unusual appearance with easy care.
