Place ideally in partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
The temperature should not fall below 0 °C. The plant is not hardy.
The beauty of the plant lies above all in its detail. The leaves, which grow out in all directions, are covered with small white dots and have serrated edges.
Haworthia Kikuhigasa is a Japanese cultivar highly valued by succulent collectors. The name "kikuhigasa" probably comes from the Japanese, where "kiku" means chrysanthemum and "higasa" means umbrella. This poetic combination of words perfectly describes the layout of the fleshy, narrow leaves, which open in an elegant rosette, resembling an umbrella with delicate rays.
The origin of the Haworthia genus can be found in the South African provinces of the Eastern and Western Cape, where this succulent genus has adapted to the dry and hot climate.
Its leaves grow light green and almost translucent, with finely toothed edges and white dots on the surface, serving as perfect tools for photosynthesis. During the flowering season, small tubular flowers appear on the long stems, adding even more charm to the plant.
Haworthia Kikuhigasa is a slow-growing and undemanding plant, ideal even for beginners in succulent cultivation. It does not need frequent fertilizing, but it is advisable to water it once a year with fertilizer. It is important to make sure that the substrate does not hold excess water, which could cause root rot. The plant is suitable for small spaces and its slow growth and undemanding nature means that it can be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates the beauty hidden in the small details.
