Haworthia cymbiformis variegata
The plant prefers a semi-shady to shady habitat.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -1,1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The irregular colouring ensures that each piece is original in colour. The bright stripes appear randomly on the leaves. It is therefore true that each piece is original.
Haworthia cymbiformis variegata, also called Cathedral Window Haworthia, is an attractive succulent plant with variegated leaves. It is a form of Haworthia cymbiformis with irregular light green and white longitudinal stripes. This classic plant is native to South Africa.
The succulent leaves of this Haworthia are thick, boat-shaped and the plant forms stemless rosettes. The rosettes grow up to 8 cm tall and up to 10 cm in diameter. The succulent forms abundant lateral rhizomes, which are also largely variegated.
Tubular flowers, white to pale pink in colour, with brown-green veins appear on slender inflorescences up to 20 cm high. Blooms from mid spring to early summer.
The succulent should be watered thoroughly in spring and autumn when growth is most active. At that time it is advisable to water the plant when the top layer of soil has dried out. Water less in winter and summer when growth slows down. The plant is characterised by rather slow growth. Haworthia cymbiformis variegata is a fairly widespread form, but still quite rare. It is therefore a good collector's piece. Moreover, each plant is original in its colouring.
