- Haworthia cymbiformis var. longifolia

Haworthia cymbiformis var. longifolia
Ideally placed in partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
This variant has longer leaves than the classic form. It is therefore called boat-shaped.
Haworthia cymbiformis var. longifolia,is a succulent plant with attractive elongated leaves. The Latin epithet 'cymbiformis' means 'boat-shaped', referring to the specific shape of the leaves. The classic form is also known as Cathedral Window Haworthia, for its translucent leaves.
This succulent is characterised by thick, fleshy, light green translucent leaves with dark longitudinal stripes. The leaves tend to be longer and narrower than the base plant, and the oldest leaves may dry out over time. The potted plant's massive roots often protrude to the surface. This Haworthia forms stemless rosettes that grow up to 8 cm tall and 10 cm across.
The tubular flowers are white to very pale pink with brownish-green veins. They appear on slender inflorescences that reach a height of up to 20 cm. Flowering takes place from mid-spring to early summer.
This Haworthia likes to be grown in a sheltered spot. It is an undemanding plant that propagates easily by offsets to form attractive clumps. It impresses with its deep green colour and transparent leaves. It doesn't grow very tall, so it is suitable for smaller flats, for example.
