Haworthia cooperi var. truncata
The plant is ideally suited to semi-shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The succulent is popular for its transparent leaves. It is particularly pleasing for those looking for a small aesthetic addition.
Haworthia cooperi var. truncata, formerly known as Haworthia obtusa f. truncata or Haworthia ikra, is an African succulent plant with fleshy, soft and glassy leaves. The name "truncata" comes from Latin and means "shortened".
The leaves of this plant are round-tipped and somewhat spherical with beautiful blue-green translucent patterns. There are tiny nipples on the reverse of the leaves. In full sun or lack of water, the leaves turn red. It is a stemless succulent that grows up to 5 cm tall and 7,5 cm across. It looks like a small cluster of grapes. Over time, the solitary rosettes form rhizomes to form a ground clump.
Haworthia flowers are whitish in colour and appear on single stems up to 30 cm long from spring to summer.
As with all succulents, the plant must never stand in water. Fertilise it as you wish, rather lightly (you can use a mixture for cacti and succulents). Haworthia cooperi var. truncata grows slowly and is sought after for its transparent leaf tips.
