Did you know?

The plant has relatively large windows through which light enters the plant. This allows us to see into the centre of the plant.

Haworthia cooperi var. obtusa is an African succulent plant with fleshy, soft and transparent leaves.

The leaves of this plant are round-tipped and almost spherical in shape with beautiful blue-green translucent patterns. Here we find the translucent parts of the leaves where we can see into the body of the plant. On the reverse of the leaves there are tiny nipples. In full sun or lack of water the leaves turn red. It is a stemless succulent that grows up to 5 cm tall and 7.5 cm in diameter. It looks like a small cluster of grapes. Over time, the solitary rosettes form offsets to form a ground clump.

Haworthia flowers are whitish in colour and appear on single stems up to 30 cm long from spring to summer.

As with all succulents, the plant must never stand in water. Fertilise it as you wish, rather lightly (you can use a mixture for cacti and succulents). Haworthia cooperi var. obtusa is very similar to Haworthia cooperi var. truncata, but has more transparent leaves, so that we can see more into the plant's body.
