Graptoveria Iona
The plant likes a sunny habitat.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate sub-zero temperatures, but is not fully hardy. Suitable for portable containers.
This is a robust, undemanding and resilient succulent with different coloured upper and lower leaves.
Graptoveria Iona is a cross between Graptopetalum filiferum and Echeveria setosa var. setosa. It was named by the famous botanist Jean-Michel Moullec.
The leaves are olive green and glossy on the upper side and purplish on the underside. The ends of the leaves are elongated and the margins are furrowed. The leaves grow thickly crowded together. Initially the plant forms ground rosettes, but over time it forms a bare, solid stem, usually 3-4 cm long. However, it is possible to grow more. Lateral shoots grow abundantly from the bottom of the stem and individual rosettes can reach up to 8 cm in diameter.
The flowers are white to reddish in colour. The ends of the petals take on pink tints. There are fine red dots near the top of the flower.
Graptoveria Iona does not like to be fertilised. It is a fairly hardy indoor or temporary outdoor succulent plant. It is particularly interesting because of the different colour of the underside and upper side of the leaves or the interesting flowers.
