This cristate form impresses with its distinctive flat stem.

Graptoveria Fred Ives cristata, often referred to by the technical name xGraptoveria Fred Ives Cristata, is an interesting hybrid among Mexican succulents. It is a crested form of a hybrid with the parents Graptopetalum paraguaense and Echeveria gibbiflora.

The plant has firm fleshy leaves covered with a waxy coating, which forms their leathery surface. The leaves take on different shades, mainly pink, grey, blue, and are clustered close together. Old leaves fall off naturally. The colour of the leaves changes depending on the season and growing conditions. Compared to the non-cristate form, this variant has smaller leaves and practically does not flower. The relatively strong, flat stem gives a slightly leathery impression. From time to time the cristate form may produce normal shoots from the sides. The fallen leaves can be used to root a new plant.

Graptoveria Fred Ives cristata is a hardy plant that can tolerate long periods of drought. It grows relatively fast and therefore does not need fertilisation. It is a collectible succulent that will appeal to any growing enthusiast.
