Place ideally in a sunny position.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.

It can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

In direct sunlight it will turn a beautiful pinkish colour.

Graptoveria Fred Ives is a hybrid between Echeveria gibbiflora and Graptopetalum paraguayense. It was created by Albert Baynes, a founding member of the National Cactus & Succulent Society in England, in 1946. In 1979 van Keppel named this succulent after Fred Ives of Shipley - Yorkshire.

The leaves combine grey, pink and blue-green, sometimes with a hint of metallic sheen. The tough but brittle leaves with a waxy surface give the plant its distinctive look. It undergoes changes in leaf colour throughout the year. Older plants show robust and massive leaf rosettes that can reach a diameter and height of around 30 cm.

The bright yellow flowers, sometimes with red spots, are sparsely spaced on a massive stem and can last a long time on the plant. Graptoveria Fred Ives flowers in winter.

I recommend making rejuvenating cuts over time to keep the plant at an acceptable size. It is also a good idea to repot the plant when the existing pot becomes too tight for it. This succulent is quite hardy and is particularly striking with its pink foliage. This colour and its relatively high resistance make it very popular with our customers.
