Graptosedum Bronze
Place the plant in full sun.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, watering is much reduced.
It can tolerate short-term frost, perhaps as low as -8 °C. However, the plant is not hardy.
The pink to bronze colour of the leaves is very unusual in succulents and in combination with its typically succulent shape it stands out perfectly. This special feature makes it very popular with our customers.
Graptosedum Bronze, is also known by the commercial name Vera Higgins - after the famous British botanist. It is an impressive succulent hybrid between Graptopetalum paraguayensis and Sedum stahlii, which has gained popularity especially among collectors of typical succulents with atypical colouration.
Its reddish bronze leaves grow in a rosette and wind beautifully around the stem. These leaves are succulent and have a smooth surface with a waxy coating. When the leaf is plucked and planted, it will grow into a new plant. Graptosedum Bronze is a small shrub with a compact form, reaching a height of about 15 cm, while older plants may droop.
Although it does not flower very often, small flowers in yellow shades do occasionally appear. As part of the care of this succulent, rejuvenation pruning can be carried out in spring, which helps to maintain an attractive appearance. Graptosedum Bronze is a hardy plant that tolerates periods without watering well. Therefore, it is suitable for beginners and novice collectors, for whom it will add spice to their collection with its unique colour that changes throughout the year.
