TIP for you:

Also called Tacitus bellus, it boasts particularly beautiful bright pink flowers. This succulent has become a real hit with growers.

Graptopetalum bellum, formerly known as Tacitus bellus, is a charming succulent plant with dark green or grey-green leaves with a reddish margin. This Chihuahua Flower is native to Mexico (Chihuahua) and was only discovered in 1972 by the famous botanist Alfred Lau.

The thick leaves are fleshy, obovate to wedge-shaped, up to 3.5 cm long by 3 cm wide. The rosettes grow up to 8 cm in diameter and are initially solitary, but eventually form offsets. They remain relatively flat and follow the ground perfectly, except for an occasional slight lift on the side where the rhizome appears. The plant is a ground-grower.

Its main attraction is undoubtedly its beautiful deep pink flowers, which appear on upright stems in late spring. This succulent plant has become an instant hit with growers.

It is important to protect the plant from the first spring sun, which could burn the leaves. It is also easy to propagate from individual leaves, which should be carefully broken off. This succulent beauty from Mexico will become a jewel in your collection, bringing you glittering rosettes and, especially at flowering time, lighting up your collection with its unusual pink bloom size.
