This succulent hybrid was created by David Cummig. He crossed Gasteria Old Man Silver and Aloe variegata.

Gasteria Green Ice, with the scientific name ×Gasteraloe Green Ice, is a hybrid succulent created by crossing Gasteria Old Man Silver and Gonialoe variegata (which was formerly known as Aloe variegata). It was bred by David M. Cumming. The epithet Green Ice refers to the appearance of the plant.

The succulent forms rosettes of grey-green leaves that are characterized by grey dots and elongated stripes. These leaves give the plant a unique appearance that resembles ice green crystals. The rosettes are slow growing and grow up to 30 cm in diameter. Gasteria tends to form lateral offshoots around the base, growing into larger colonies.

The plant flowers in summer, with flowers usually appearing several times a year. The flowers are tubular, turning red in the lower half and white above with characteristic green central stripes.

Gasteria Green Ice can tolerate a little more shade than many other succulents. This makes it ideal for growing in pots as a houseplant. It can be lightly fertilized at your discretion. It is an attractive and unpretentious succulent plant that will catch the eye of any admirer.
