The plant should ideally be placed in partial shade.

It prefers dryness to dampness.

It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

This is a very hardy plant that is undemanding in both light and watering. It is therefore also suitable as a first succulent plant for beginners. I would also recommend it to children who are beginning to discover their enthusiasm for growing plants.

Gasteria bicolor is a succulent with dark green leaves decorated with a speckled pattern, nicknamed Lawyer's Tongue. You can also find it under the name Gasteria obliqua or Gasteria minima.

Gasteria bicolor boasts stiff, dark green leaves with white spots that resemble a sprinkled pattern. The leaves are tipped with a sharp point and the plant grows bilaterally for long periods of time - the leaves only grow in two opposite directions. It is only in old age that they form an imperfect rosette. Gasteria bicolor rhizomes profusely, forming clumps that can grow several tens of centimetres high.

This succulent plant will surprise you with its beautiful flowers, which appear on slender stems up to 1.5 m long. The bell-shaped flowers come in shades of pink, orange and green. It can flower at almost any time of the year, but most often blooms from mid-winter to spring.

Gasteria bicolor is a very undemanding plant that will please growers who are unable to place plants in sunny locations. It requires little light and modest watering. It will become a durable jewel in any succulent lover's collection and bring a bit of exotic beauty to the interior.
