The plant likes a sunny habitat, but can tolerate partial shade.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In the winter, stop watering after a few days.

It can tolerate -3,9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

This is a hardy plant with striking yellow flowers. The leaves have a bizarre appearance and the shape evokes tiger's mouths.

Faucaria felina subs. tuberculosa is a succulent plant with attractive leaves and large yellow flowers. Sometimes it is also referred to as Faucaria tuberculosa. It can be easily distinguished from other species of faucarias by the white bumps (growths) on the surface of the leaves, called tubercles. The Latin name tuberculosus means very bumpy, warty. It can be found under the nickname Pebbled Tiger Jaws.

The triangular leaves of this plant grow arranged in opposite pairs and are dark green with whitish dots. There are coarse white bumps on the upper surface of the leaves and soft white teeth around the edges. Leaves grow up to 2,5 cm long and 2 cm wide. The old lower leaves wither and older plants form woody stems. Faucaria felina subs. tuberculosa forms small rhizomatous shrubs that grow up to 15 cm tall.

It blooms from autumn to winter with large yellow-gold flowers similar to dandelions. The flowers are up to 4 cm across and open around midday and close in the late afternoon. The bright yellow colour of the flowers attracts insects.

It grows actively mostly in spring and autumn. It is a fairly hardy plant and its beauty comes out especially during flowering.
