Echeveria xichuensis
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The dark olive leaves with a purple to greyish tinge show longitudinal stripes of different shades.
Echeveria xichuensis, also known scientifically as Echeveria humilis, is an interesting succulent plant, with dark olive green leaves with a purple tinge and a unique texture.
These thick, elliptic to ovate leaves grow up to 6 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. The succulent forms stemless or short-stalked rosettes up to 12 cm across.
In spring, Echeveria xichuensis is enveloped in beautiful flowers, which are pink with salmon tips and a light orange interior.
This succulent plant is easy to grow, but care must be taken when overwatering. The 'soak and dry' method is ideal for it. Do not leave it standing in water, but give it a splash of copious water when the substrate is completely dry. Wrinkled leaves indicate that the plant needs water. Fertiliser is not necessary, it grows well without it. Echeveria xichuensis is a fascinating succulent gem that will become a charming addition to any collection and will delight the eye of its grower with its greyish sheen.
