Echeveria Winter Sunset variegata
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, we limit watering.
The plant can tolerate short-term temperatures down to -6.7 °C. However, it is not hardy.
This is a variegated form of Winter Sunset, which comes from Echeveria Imbricata. It originated in Marseille in 1874.
Echeveria Winter Sunset variegata is a colourful form of the popular Echeveria Winter Sunset. It is a form or hybrid of Echeveria Imbricata, which was created by crossing Echeveria glauca and created by Jean-Baptiste A. Deleuil in Marseille in 1874.
The large and fleshy leaves are quite variable in colour. It is a combination of green, yellow and pink. The leaves are rounded at the end and have a small tip. The plant has a strong stem and can grow up to 20 cm tall.
The flowers are typical of the Echeveria genus, bell-shaped and appear on a longer stem. However, flowering is relatively rare.
The slow-growing flesh-bearing plant rarely produces offsets. Care must be taken at the first strong sun to avoid burning the leaves and it does not benefit from fertilisation. This is a collector's prized piece, adding an exotic element and play of colour to collections.
