Echeveria Western Blue
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
The plant is not hardy.
Western Blue blooms with beautiful flowers that blend shades of yellow, pink and red. The flower stands out in contrast to the bluish leaves that give the plant its name.
Echeveria Western Blue is not found in the wild. It was bred in botanical nurseries by crossing different species of the genus Echeveria to create an original plant that would be different from other Echeverias.
The typical blue-green colour of the succulent turns greyish in places, creating a striking contrast with the bright pink tips of the leaves. The tips are very sharp and the colouring extends to the edges of the leaves. The intensity of the pink colour varies according to the amount of sunlight and can spill over onto the leaves if there is enough. The sun also helps the waving of the leaf margins, which can occasionally be observed here. The stem is sturdy and grows rather close to the ground.
It blooms fairly regularly and its flowers are typical of the genus Echeveria.
The succulent is not very good with fertiliser. Bred for the ultimate admiring experience, this unique bluish Echeveria will add a regularly flowering piece to your succulent collection, often bursting into a flood of vibrant colour.
