Echeveria Supia
Place in a sunny location.
Water every few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
Can tolerate down to -1.1 °C in the short term. The plant is not hardy.
The name Supia translates to "fairy of the forest". It refers to the delicacy and tenderness of its shapes and hints of colour.
Echeveria Supia is an Asian hybrid whose parents are unknown. This succulent plant has appeared under several names in different parts of Asia at relatively the same time. In Korea it is known as Echeveria Goomiri, in Japan as Echeveria Morino Sei, Echeveria Gusto, Echeveria multicaulis or Echeveria pringlei var. parva. The European name Supia translates to forest fairy.
The green leaves turn purple or red around the edges when grown in the sun. Individual leaves measure about 2.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. They form terminal rosettes that grow up to 5 cm across. The succulent shrub branches profusely and grows up to 30 cm tall.
Clusters of bell-shaped flowers bloom on the leaf stalks during spring. They are red on the outside and bright yellow on the inside.
Do not fertilise the plant. Young succulents grow very quickly, but later their growth rate slows down. It is a hardy plant that is not easily tormented. Its unpretentiousness makes it suitable for beginners, and this woodland fairy brings a bit of refinement wherever it is placed.
