Echeveria subcorymbosa Lau 30
Likes rather sunny habitats.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering. In general, we keep to a drier regime.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. The plant is not hardy.
The miniature plant impresses with its coloured edges, which contrast subtly with the green-blue colour of the leaves.
Echeveria subcorymbosa Lau 30, was formerly offered under the name Echeveria subcorymbosa Juxtlahuaca. It is very similar to the succulent Cremneria Expatriata. The epithet 'subcorymbosa' refers to the grape-like inflorescence of the plant. The plants of this species are very varied and there is a great variability between types.
The leaves on it are grey to blue-grey with reddish margins and often with red spots on the underside. The ascending or curved, spoon-shaped leaves tend to end in a sharp point. The rosettes are compact, short-stalked and about 3 cm across. The brown stem grows to a height of 5 cm. The ovate leaves are about 1,5 cm long and 0,8 cm wide in diameter. The lower part of the flower turns red-orange, the upper part yellow. They appear in summer on stems up to 11 cm long with several bracts.
The colourful petals are also interesting. The plant grows in rather miniature sizes. It forms beautiful rosettes and impresses with its coloured leaf margins. It is suitable for succulent gardens and as a rewarding houseplant on the windowsill.
