Echeveria Scorpio
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The leaves grow whitish hairs that protect the plant from too much sun. They also give it a more interesting appearance.
Echeveria Scorpio is a relatively new succulent hybrid, probably bred in 2012. It is relatively rare and more difficult to find.
This Echeveria is characterised by its fleshy lanceolate leaves, which turn blue-green and tend to be flat at the top. The undersides of the leaves are rounded and can vary in colour from red to purple or even blackish. The leaves are covered with small whitish hairs that protect the plant from intense sunlight. It has a compact growth habit and grows in the classic solitary rosette shape. Over time, however, it branches off from the bottom to form a cluster of rosettes. The diameter of the ground rosette is usually around 5 cm.
The flowers turn red-yellow and grow on tall stems. They are typical of the genus Echeveria and add to the beauty of the plant.
Echeveria Scorpio is the ideal plant for those who want to decorate their home with something unusual. The plant does not need to be fertilised and thanks to its compact size it can fit practically anywhere. It changes its shedding beautifully according to the intensity of the light and is still relatively uncommon, but the popularity of this gem is growing.
