Echeveria runyonii Topsy Turvy cristata is a unique succulent plant with a crested form. This mutation causes the leaves to grow in a deformed manner and cluster along flattened stems. In 2003, Harry Mak described it under the name Echeveria runyonii Illusion, which is also the name under which it can be found.
The leaves of Echeveria runyonii Topsy Turvy cristata turn light blue-green to silvery blue, often with hints of pink at the tips. They tend to be shorter and narrower than the leaves of the classic Echeveria runyonii Topsy Turvy. The stems of the plant have a waxy coating like the leaves. It forms many new ridges at its base, forming attractive clumps. Each specimen has a unique and fascinating shape. The plant also forms classic rosettes and has a rather ground and clump-like growth habit.
It has flowers typical of the entire Echeveria genus, but they appear on flat, crested stems. Non-cristate rosettes may also flower, which are often produced by the plant itself.
The plant is not fertilised and requires no special treatment. Echeveria runyonii Topsy Turvy cristata is a rare and unique succulent that grows in interesting shapes. It is an ideal plant for collectors and succulent lovers looking for something unusual and beautifully shaped.
