The plant likes a sunny habitat.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The upper side of the leaves is deeply concave (bent). This phenomenon is particularly enhanced by the colouring of the leaves, which develops over the course of the year, mixing shades of brown, red and pink.

Echeveria racemosa, formerly known as Echeveria lurida, is a succulent plant native to Mexico, from the vicinity of Xalapa, the capital of the state of Veracruz. The name 'racemosa' refers to the plant's racemose inflorescence.

The leaves of Echeveria are characterised by their pink to brown colour, which changes throughout the year. The upper side of the leaves is deeply concave and their shape is narrowly oblong. The leaves are sharp at the tip and grow from a short stem 1-1,5 cm in diameter. The succulent grows easily to a height of over 5 cm.

The inflorescences are racemes 30-50 cm long. The flowers are reddish-yellow in colour.

Echeveria racemosa can easily be propagated from the leaves. The plant should not be fertilised. It is very hardy and can forgive many a grower's mistake. The colour of its leaves, which, unlike most succulents, range from red to orange to brown or pink, is particularly striking. Moreover, the colour does not stay the same, but changes even within a year.
