TIP for you:

The white hairs give it a unique look and feel. Almost like a little succulent teddy bear. The hairs cover not only the leaves but also the stems of the plant.

Echeveria pulvinata Frosty, properly called Echeveria pulvinata var. frigida, is a charming succulent plant with leaves covered in fine white hairs that give it the appearance of a cuddly toy. It is also called White Chenille Plant. This variety, distributed in 1983, originated in Mexico, probably from a single location between San Pedro Yólox and the Rio Grande in Oaxaca. It was discovered by the famous botanist Alfred Lau at a site about 30 kilometres from the original Echeveria pulvinata.

The thick and fleshy leaves have white fuzz which gives them a velvety appearance. The tips of the leaves turn brown in summer sunlight. The rosettes grow 6-8 centimetres across and grow on a woody cumin. The stems are also covered with white hairs. The whole plant is bushy and grows up to 15 cm long.

The bell-shaped flowers, yellow-orange in colour with a purple stripe along the keel, appear in spring, sometimes later. They grow on long inflorescences.

This succulent plant prefers full sun and grows slowly. It is easy to grow and requires little care. Its attractive, teddy bear-like appearance makes it a popular succulent plant.
