Echeveria hookeri
The plant likes a sunny habitat.
Always water after the substrate is dry. In winter, limit watering.
The plant can tolerate short-term temperatures down to -6.7 °C. However, it is not hardy.
To achieve the best succulent form and nice colouring, it is advisable to place the succulent in a location with the most sunlight.
Echeveria hookeri, sometimes called Little Jewel, is often classified in the genus Pachyveria, as Pachyveria glauca or Pachyveria bea. The origin is not entirely clear, but it is possible that it is an intergeneric hybrid.
The thick, cylindrical leaves are decorated with a fine waxy coating giving the plant a powdery appearance. Their colour is silvery blue with a red tip. The plant forms solid, ground rosettes which grow to a relatively large and wide size with age. From these rosettes, lateral offshoots grow, eventually forming a large clump.
Echeveria hookeri blooms on a tall stalk that grows up to 20 cm long. The flowers of the plant turn pinkish on the outside and peachy on the inside, which is a striking colour.
Fertilisation is not very suitable for the plant. It can be propagated by planting individual leaves. In our shop we offer several forms of Echeveria hookeri, which differ in leaf colour. The wax coating of the succulent will delight the observer and prepare a unique spectacle.
