Ideally placed in partial shade, but can tolerate sunny sites.

Always water after the substrate has dried out. Do not overwater and do not water at all during the winter.

It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

If the top of the rosette is white, it has no chlorophyll. Then it is advisable to cut it off to allow the rosette to grow back. This ensures the viability of the plant.

Echeveria Gilva variegata, also known as Molded Wax Agave, is a succulent plant with variegated leaves. The epithet agavoides - resembling Agave, refers to the resemblance to this genus. Echeveria is generally native to Mexico.

The plant is characterized by its stiff, pointed leaves that turn yellow and pink in the sun. Their coloration, caused by local loss of chlorophyll, produces beautiful white to yellow patterns on the leaf surface. The plant usually grows as a solitary rosette, which can eventually grow up to 15 cm tall. Under favourable conditions it can also grow into larger clumps.

It has not yet been observed to flower.

It is important to observe the top of the rosette. If it is all white, i.e. without chlorophyll, it should be cut back over time to prevent the plant from turning completely white and dying. Pruning will encourage the growth of new rosettes. It is a good idea to watch out for the first strong sun so as not to burn the leaves. It is advisable to place the plant in partial shade, especially at this time.
