- Echeveria Gilva cristata variegata

Echeveria Gilva cristata variegata
Ideally placed in a sunny position, but can be placed in partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter and water less than other species throughout the year.
The plant is not hardy, it likes room temperature.
The succulent presents both a crested form and a variegated form. It is thus suitable as a special piece in a collection for collectors of attractive rarities.
Echeveria Gilva cristata variegata is sometimes also called Echeveria agavoides. As the name implies, it is both a variegated and crested Echeveria.
The tiny leaves have pointed ends of reddish colour. The soft-fleshed leaves themselves are a deep green colour, but the loss of chlorophyll causes some of them to take on a lighter colour. In shade it turns white and in sunlight it turns more yellow. Individual leaves grow densely clumped side by side on a flat stalk of green. It can normally grow to a height of about 20 cm.
The crested form is very unlikely to flower.
We also have a non-cristate, but similar form of Echeveria agavoides Gilva in our shop. You will also find other similar forms such as Echeveria Leisal and Echeveria Gilva cristata. The plant does not like fertilization. For the cristate but similar form, each plant is a collector's piece. It is in fact something quite atypical and highly desirable in succulent collections.
