The leaves are an attractive light to apple green colour with red tips. The unusual tufts of rosettes on this plant are particularly pleasing to collectors of crested forms.
Echeveria agavoides cristata, also known as Crested Molded Wax Agave, is a pinnate succulent plant native to Mexico. It is a selected form of Echeveria agavoides that is characterized by its cristate growth.
This small and usually low-growing succulent plant forms attractive and firm fans with a large number of small, tough leaves. The apple green leaves with soft red tips give the plant a charming appearance. The flat, light green stems allow the plant to grow to a height of about 10 cm. The plant tends to spread out wide to form cute little spikes.
Unlike the classic Echeveria agavoides, this variant does not flower.
This fairly hardy and tough succulent plant tolerates drought and heat well. Fertilizing is not desirable, so this concern is also eliminated. The tufted appearance of the ground rosettes is complemented by the red leaf tips and adds vibrancy to the succulent. This species will especially please collectors of unusually shaped succulents.
