The plant is most beautiful when it is in flower. During the summer it can be placed outdoors for better growth.
Dorotheanthus bellidiformis variegata is an attractive plant with brightly coloured flowers and variegated leaves. It is an ideal choice for hanging pots and windowsills.
The leaves are fleshy and alternate, with white-patterned margins. The delicate leaves give the plant a succulent appearance. It has a semi-deciduous habit and grows to a height of 20 cm. Its leaves dry out in winter and grow back during the growing season.
The flowers are small and resemble daisies or dandelions. They have a dark target and petals in shades of red, pink, orange and white. They bloom profusely throughout the summer.
Succulents can be lightly fertilised with, for example, cactus and succulent fertiliser. The relatively hardy plant is a delight with its flowers, but also with its attractive leaf pattern.
