Did you know?

The leaves of this ice plant are more elongated and may turn a more orange shade than is usual for this genus.

The leaves are elongated and have visible pulp on their surface. The leaves grow in a cylindrical shape. The tips have a reddish tinge and the whole leaf may take on a more orange colour. The flowers turn bright pinkish-purple and are up to 3 cm across. The succulent grows in clusters and is very hardy. It forms beautiful cushions, which it complements with its beautiful flowers.

They need sufficient light, full sun is ideal. They prefer a well-drained soil that does not risk long-term root waterlogging. They do not need much water and it is always advisable to let the substrate dry out properly between waterings. When growing in a rockery, water only during prolonged dry periods at your discretion. Succulent likes occasional repotting if grown in containers. Hellebores are hardy, and although not strictly necessary, they do well to cover themselves with non-woven fabric for the winter to protect them from hard frosts.
