Crassula swaziensis variegata
I place the plant in full sun, but it can tolerate partial shade in summer.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It likes room temperatures, but at least 10 °C. The plant is not hardy.
In a shady place the plant will turn yellow-green, if placed directly in the sun it will also take on a pink tinge.
Crassula swaziensis variegata, also known as Crassula swaziensis Money maker. It is a cultivar produced from the swaziensis species. The classic green-leaved form, Crassula swaziensis, is native to South Africa where it grows on rocky outcrops and adapts to semi-arid habitats.
The leaves of this plant are lightly covered with fine hairs and have an interesting colour variation. Initially, shades of pale green are observed, with pale yellow margins. The yellow often forms a larger stripe that covers more than half of the leaf surface. The different shades of colour and distinctive clumps of this plant soon take up all the available space, forming a dense groundcover shrub.
The flowers of Crassula swaziensis variegata are small and variable in colour, but do not occur very often.
This plant is not difficult to grow. Ideally, the plant can be replanted once a year. Even without repotting, however, it is an ornament to any collection.
