TIP for you:

The colour of the plant varies depending on the growing conditions. It can go from bright green to grey-green to red if there is enough sunlight.

Crassula setulosa var. transvaal, also known as Crassula Transvaal Drakensberg, is a succulent plant native to South Africa, from the area of the former Transvaal province. The name 'Drakensberg' in turn refers to the Dragon Mountains in the eastern part of the region.

The leaves vary in colour from bright green to grey-green. Depending on sunlight, they also take on hints of red. The surface of the leaves is covered with dense whitish hair. This serves to protect the plant from adverse weather conditions, loss of moisture and helps it retain enough water during periods of drought. By abundant branching, it forms small, flattened and closely spaced rosettes that resemble a shallow cushion. It grows only a few centimetres above ground level, but quickly expands in width.

In the summer and partly in autumn, the flowers turn from white to red. The flowers of this plant grow on tall stems and cover almost the entire plant.

Crassula setulosa var. transvaal is a very special succulent plant that is constantly changing its appearance and colour. Rather, we do not fertilize it and even with a minimum of care it produces beautiful carpets of unusual character over time. This furry succulent also delights with its dense flowering and leaves its observer in awe.
