The plant likes a sunny location.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

It is not advisable to fertilise the plant. It could pull up unhealthily and the overall appearance would be considerably less aesthetic.

Crassula schmidtii Pink, also known as Crassula exilis subsp. schmidtii is a charming succulent plant native to the Cape Province of South Africa. It is nicknamed Fairy Tongue.

This low plant, growing to 10 cm, forms dense and compact clumps of thin hairy stems which are decorated with small green triangular leaves 2,5-4,5 cm long and 4-5 mm wide. The surface of the leaves is covered with fine dark dots and the margin is furrowed. In full sun the leaves turn slightly brownish red.

However, the main attraction of this plant is its beautiful flowering. During the summer, rich clusters of tiny, deep pink flowers appear at the top of the stems, giving the plant its fairy-tale appearance. Due to the abundant flower production, the compact shape of the plant is slightly lost at this time.

I recommend removing the inflorescences after flowering to encourage the growth of new side shoots. The plant does not like any fertilization and loses its compact shape and becomes an unsightly shrub when it is over fertilized. Crassula schmidtii is available in various forms, differing in flower colour. For example, you can also find Crassula schmidtii White with white flowers in our shop. The Pink form is an ideal choice for lovers of pink, as its tiny flowers literally cover the green shoots and brighten up your succulent collection.
